1 was just a completely different type of game. Far Cry 2 was innovative and atmospheric but very tedious. I never liked Primal, couldn't really tell you why. When you’re caught low on ammo, with just a knife to fend off an incoming attack from a pack of wolves, every available avenue of escape must be weighed up in an instant.Īnother game which nails this feeling perfectly is The Long Dark, a survival game set in the Canadian wilderness in which a stranded bush pilot must fight for survival. At times, Far Cry 5 can feel like a survival game.
